Japanese Robes

Antique Chinese or Japanese Robe....How can I find out if it's worth anything?

Hi Guys I wonder if you can help at all. I have an antique Robe which I thought I would try & evaluate. I'm not actually sure if it's of Chinese origin or Japanese. I've tried researching on the Internet to find out more about it but haven't come up with much....I wondered if maybe anyone knows of any good sites that I could search out in order to find out more about it. It's a long shot I know but it would be a start. I've also browsed ebay through their antiques section but they have nothing in comparison so I couldn't compare it to anything. Any help would be really appreciated Thanks for taking the time to read this. ♥

1. Try researching kimono or obi, first figure out what material it is made of, research to see if there are any alphabet characters on it to figure out if it is Chinese or Japanese. Then look for a signature, and try to figure out if it is hand painted, good luck.
2. Sounds like Kimono... Could be a Chinese Jacket though? You would have to describe it to me a little better. I can help you if you do, as this is my area of expertise but I need to know more about how it looks... Fabric, style, shape, decoration length... All that good stuff.
