Can anyone possibly buy handmade silk kimonos (not that eBay "thing)? I'm searching for those kimonos I've read about in a book about geishas and maikos... How do I clean and repair a soiled old silk kimono? The kimono is very delicate cream/oyster silk, with pale mauve embroidery - badly faded - depicting wisteria. The hem is very damaged and disintegrating. It appears to be padded with some sort of wadding, probably cotton. No clear evidence on age of kimono. It was found in a loft with some other clothes, which are clearly Victorian. I suspect the kimono is from 1020's - 1930's. There are yellow stains on several areas, especially around the neck. I would like to know how to clean the stains and restore the damage. I intend to display the kimono on the wall.

What needle should I use to sew polyester and silk together? I'm trying to make these really cool asian-like leggings. I bought a kimono (well, a japanese dress, but not really the original kimono...) which is 60% silk and 40% rayon. I want to sew this to another dress which is 100% polyester. (In other words, walmart doesn't offer enough variety of material and there are no other local places to buy it, so I'm compromising.) So, any suggestions on what size needle or any certain thread I should use?
Cleaning a silk Kimono? I've been given a vintage Silk kimono for my wedding dress next year. It's quite old and has some minor stains from wear and storage. Before i risk damaging it is there any way to clean it? I don't mind having to pay a dry-cleaners to do it i'm just asking before it gets here. It's being shipped from friends in Japan. If they had enough Japaneese to find out i'd be sorted!! :-) It is beautiful, Cream silk with crane's on it. I guess it's time to start looking for a specialist over here

Cleaning Thai silk without taking it to a dry cleaners? i have some shoes made with this that got some muddy water on them that left the spots there, I'm afraid to get them wet if it were to leave a permanent wet mark, I tried finding some info on this, but I don't know if it's real Thai silk because they're were only $35. The only info i can find on cleaning this type of silk is addressing blouses and kimonos and stuff, but my concern is, like i said, if it's fake If it will react differently. I did a test spot on it, it doesn't look like the water mark went away. I used a damp cloth.
Are Kimonos expensive? Where can I get a cheap one? Are ALL Kimonos so expensive??? I heard that traditional ones are $300-$500!!!!! I'm looking for a Kimono as kind of a Halloween thing, and also just because I've always wanted to wear one... But anyways, is there a place (besides online) that I could buy one that's at least under $50? If I went to the mall, would they be cheaper if they weren't like, importated from Japan? And one last thing-- Are there ones that aren't made of silk? Because I'm guessing that they'd be alot cheaper....

Where can I get an Asian inspired makeup bag? Like silk/satin with a great print or embroidery? I don't know if there's a name for this style, but I want a makeup/cosmetics bag that's Asian inspired made of satin or silk with a print/embroidered pattern on it that sort of looks like something you would see on a kimono. Maybe dragonflies, or something floral, but something along those lines. I can't seem to find anything online but if anyone can give me a link to a website or sites that sell this sort of product, I would really appreciate it. I wanted something other than my standard black makeup bag that I currently have. Thanks.

PLEASE ANSWER! How is the 1st chapter of my story? Here's the prologue: Clouds, soft, delicate. The citizens always told me that a cloud is to a lover. Clouds can move, you can feel them, but eventually, it will all fade away. Sometimes, there is that special cloud that stays with you, cushioning your deep dreams every night. My family and I lived on the side of the moon. This cloud would always follow the moon for some reason. The only way to live on one is to be born on it, which makes you a spirit. Humans cannot climb to be on one, they will fall through the stars, rip through the sky, and land face down in their bed. They will fall asleep and never remember what happened ever again. There is no explanation on why life is like this, for my grandfather and all the wise spirits state. Then there are the spirits that live on the cloud on the side of the sun. They wear robes of fire, hearts of hate and souls of death. People wonder why there are eclipses. Eclipses are when the sun and moon fight for the Earth's eye to view its precious beauty, and during this time, the sun and moon cloud spirits are fighting. This is rare, and whenever there is an eclipse, food is scarce, and spirits are greatly afraid. I always just wanted peace, like there is on Earth. -------------------------- NOT PART OF THE STORY: The prologue is in the view of a child who lives in the clouds. The first chapter is about a child who lives on Earth and dreams about the clouds. Say your opinion, thanks! :] ------------------ I always wondered, what are clouds like? Where do they go? Questions like these endlessly emerged from my head, and it spiraled. I eventually grew drowsy and silently slept. I knew there was something out in the moon, stars, maybe even clouds. This is a poor village we have, my parents and I are happy to have a small wood and straw home. It is shaped as a rather small tent and has rocks surrounding it. Although no one within 100 miles is wealthy, I am grateful for shelter, water, and food. Apparently, food is scarce, as my mother says. The next day, my parents were panicked. My eyes spread wide as I listened to the thorough details that a local friend, Hanuko, spat the terrible news. There was a war in our village! Thievery was common here in this small town in Japan, but this time the community took action. They created arrows and bows, knives and whips. A large group of thieves arrived, armed and ready. "I must protect our village," My father, Rukano, had bellowed with subtle pride. "Please, Kara," He passionately said my mother's name. "Create weapons, take care of our boy, and pray. It is all you can do while I am protecting us and everything around us." Rukano had already equipped several 100's of arrows, a couple of bows, and 5 knives. These were made long ago for emergencies. "Goodbye..." Kara weakly whispered. She sweetly smiled, but my father and I could see the wistfullness in her eyes. A warm tear ran down my cheek, however, my heart felt cold and frozen as ice. My mother pecked Rukano a small kiss and limped away. "Son," My father ripped through the deadly moment of silence, which felt like hours of dead silence. "Stay strong and help your mother, I promise we'll all be fine." I had a slight doubt in his promise, but hoped to God that he was correct. "I hope this war is short, and very few die, goodbye now, Hyinu." My dad marched away. It all happened too quickly. You're probably wondering what the thieves are stealing and why they are stealing. First of all, even areas that are not the wealthiest have valuable items and precious artwork. This place in Japan has a great reputation for traditional silk kimonos. Kimonos are in high demand, and they keep the village running with trade and money. When other areas buy all they can legally, and if they desire more, they are willing to steal. Our village obviously wants this to end. Sometimes, I wish I could fly up to a cloud and escape Earth, for peace.
Hows the second chapter of my story? This is the first: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Agq_nY48JWJjZTxxjOGTUj7sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090201123820AAWGOWz The first chapter is about a child living on a cloud. I think that I am trans and i'm scared and need help...can you help me? OKK, so that did sound a little desperate, but this is ******* confusing!! lol. Societal pressure makes you think "am I just a REALLLLLLy femme gay **Guy**" or honestly a woman trapped ina man's (hurl) body? Honest to god, I know i am. I sometimes swallow it but the time has come for me to realize it. ANd I just told my mom the other day i'm gender confused but nothing about transitioning. It's just weird. My dad would disown me. He told me when i came out as gay at the age of 16 that if i ever (somehow!?) told him i was trans he'd never in his life talk to me again and i'd be dead to him. Maybe the man version of me would be, but...harsh... Is there any help? I am comfortable being gay, liking men, but...the man part kills me. KILLS me. I hate body hair. I hate the manly physique on me :(. I just hate it. Hate looking like a man, feeling like one, not having soft, feminine features. And don't call me a freak i'm 20 and i know what i want...though not always. It hurt most of all when we walked into a store and my dad bought my little sister and mom two beautiful silk kimonos and i just wanted to wear them...and lay in bed with freshly-shaved legs inside them. DARN! What do you think?
Why is a kimono so expensive? Isn't $10,000 a bit steep for a few pieces of colored fabric, even if it is silk? Is there something terribly difficult about how they are made? For comparison, a 3 meter by 4 meter Persian carpet can take as long as a year to weave, but you can get one for a couple grand. More detail: A hand-woven, silk, persian carpet, that takes more than a man-year of human work, is much less than $10,000.
Does Comet bleach your clothes? The cleanser? I KNEW I had no business wearing my silk kimono to clean the bathtub. Dang.
Fashion help?!!!? Ok I saw this silk kimono at H&M but they don't have it anymore. It's not a regular kimono. It's like a slip that you wear to bed. Except I really want one but I don't know where to look. It needs to be something for a teenager. If anyone can help me I'd seriously owe you one! Just to clarify, they said they wouldn't have it again because it was a special thing.
Young Adult. What Do You Think? Help Me Edit? (I know it's probably not that great, it's just a rought draft. Help me edit it?) Cass Nyte peeled the thin silk bedspread off herself, flopping her legs over to the left side of the bed. She barely had the strength to stand, her legs turning to Jell-O underneath her. She only had this feeling twice - when she had a terrible, vivid dream, and when she looked into David's eyes. And today, unfortunately, the feeling was caused by the first option. A horrific dream, as real as could be. Cass could practically touch Maggie's brunette hair in front of her, as they were running through the forest. It was the forest behind their house, which spread wide through Durango, Colorado. Haylie was in back of her, breathing heavily. Her heart was racing, and then she heard a terrible sound. She could feel Haylie's hair brush against the heels of her bare feet, and she didn't have the heart to glance back. She knew what was happening, strangely, and she knew she couldn't stop. Not to save her best friend, which Haylie definitely was. And not to save her sister, who was stumbling in front of her, barely able to keep going. She was thinking about how she would have to leave her behind, and tears were slowly flowing down her cheeks. But then hands grasped at her ankles, and she was pulled backwards, her head smashing to the ground. She jerked her head quickly around and looked into emerald green eyes. The man, or boy, rather, was about her age, and beautiful. Deep brown hair, and skin as fair as hers was. As she drowned in those jeweled eyes, the eyes of a killer, the eyes of the person who just captured her best friend, there was fear. And then she looked over at a figure standing behind him, the beautiful boy, and a pang went through her. It was Arissa. Her sister. Cass looked at herself in the mirror once, as the vision of him faded away. But then again, it never did really leave. She had a feeling that this boy would haunt her thoughts for quite a while. Good think he was only imaginary. Cass ran a brush through her pale, silvery blonde hair once, and that was all it took. It fell sleek and straight halfway down her back, fair, but in thick masses. Her skin, like the boy's. Flawless, no blemishes, and almost translucent. Purplish veins covered her lids, giving an appearance of eyeshadow that wasn't gross but strangely, naturally beautiful. It matched her eyes, which were a pale violet color. They were striking. Like pools of silver, and then some adorable little child, playing in the cabinet, found purple food coloring, dripping just a single drop into the silver, tainting it the most beautiful color of Wood Violets. Cass looked along her clothing quickly. She didn't wear the kind of clothes everyone else wore, or what Arissa wore. Not skimpy, trying-too-hard-to-be-sexy clothing, but beautiful, european designer clothing. Arissa was Cass's opposite, with thick masses of dark hair and soleful brown eyes. Cass felt a pang of jealousy as she thought of Arissa. She loved her sister, that was undeniable, but she possessed David, who Cass had loved since she first layed eyes on him. Cass pushed that thought away. She was surprisingly good at blocking out painful things. She grabbed a silk kimono, deep red in color, with golden dragons scrawled acrossed it. It matched her black boots, which had golden and red dragons of its own stitched on the sides. The kimono reached to her hips, and so some thick tights underneath would be warm enough. And then a coat, which Cass liked especially. She thought it added something to her beautiful outfits. She chose a wool jacket that was deep gray, stretching down to the middle of her thighs. She left it unbuttoned. She walked down the stairs with dignity, looking along the peach colored walls at the pictures of the family. Arissa, beautiful and vaguely...Witchy. With her eyes looking at you seductively, you could almost swear she was a Mythical creature in a movie. But she wasn't, she was reality, and Cass knew this all too well. As she reached the kitchen, she stopped at the top of Maggie's head and kissed it lightly, and the girl protested, but Cass was already out the door, cramming a piece of bread in her mouth and rushing down the cement hastily. And to her relief, Haylie was standing there, in front of her car, like always. The dream, which was so real, hadn't been real at all. Not even in the slightest. Haylie was looking amazing, her short, caramel brown hair straightened and flipped beautifully. Her outfit, classic and hugging her perfectly. Her green eyes, like emeralds. Cass thought of the boy for the last time that morning, and jumped into the Camero and drove off to Lincoln High School. The front of the tiny High School was crouded, kids rushing along the lush green grass. She were giving each other greetings for the morning, some sitting and some standing, some near the door and some closer to the street. But as Cass emerged from the car, all heads turned, and all the jocks, studious boys and girls, less studious boys and girls, and popular girls all had one thing in common; they adored her. She waved over to a couple of random boys who were looking at her with wonder, and didn't stop until she reached the entrance to the school. She sat down on the ledge by it, a boy generously giving up his spot. Haylie was right beside her, taking the spot from his friend. "Every morning. It's so embarrassing." Cass said, looking down at her chinese inspired shoes. She lifted one foot up and turned it, giving it a once over, and then put it back down. "Cass, any girl would love to be you. Embrace it, okay? You're beautiful and everyone knows it." Haylie said. Haylie was an absolutely amazing friend. She didn't pout when a boy picked Cass over her, she didn't pout when, on a double-date with Cass her man forget completely about her as soon as Cass spoke. Haylie was happy, because she had James. He was the only person she needed now, and Cass was still alone. Cass envied her. She looked up at the pure blue sky. It was a beautiful day, but Cass had wished for a rainy. She loved the rain, and the smell. She wished she lived by the ocean, the air there pure and luscious. Cass's hair smelled like the ocean breeze. She could thank Sauve for that. Many eyes still lingered on Cass now, and she waved at the few wonderous faces that were staring. But they all whipped away when the car pulled up. It was a deep blue color, shiny, long and sleek. It had black rims, Cass noted nonchallantly. The door clicked, and a foot slipped out. They were Camper's brand. Nice. And then some blue jeans, and then a long, cream colored sweater. And then the back of a deep brunette head of hair, straight, shaggy. Beautiful. And the boy turned, and Cass's heart stopped. Because as she I posted part of it twice, sorry! This is the very last part, And the boy turned, and Cass's heart stopped. Because as she looked at that face, the face everyone was gasping about and chattering and gossiping already, she was only sputtering for air, as black shaded over her vision. The boy from her dream, just as frighteningly beautiful as in her imagination. her man forget completely about her as soon as Cass spoke. And then the back of a deep brunette head of hair, straight, shaggy. Beautiful. And the boy turned, and Cass's heart stopped. Because as she She's going to be a lost Enchantress, and she doesn't remember that she is one. So she has to be beautiful, she is a mythical creature! Well, Cass and Arissa's family is a whole line of Witches (Enchantresses), the last person who actually knew she was a Witch their dead grandmother. So they are beautiful and perfect. Haylie isn't perfect, she's just pretty, kind of average. And the boy is a Mythical creature, too. You are very bitter. Is it because you have pimples and you're not pretty? Jealousy? What it is, because obviously there is something further than my writing that is ticking you off. If you are going to be nasty, just leave, because I don't appreciate your advice when you're being a completely jackass anyway. I'm a terrible writer? Really? For 13, I think I'm pretty good. Just because you're a little bitch doesn't mean you should go around insulting innocent people who didn't do shit to you. Obviously, your life is hell. And honestly, I feel sorry for you. She is the one who told me I was a terrible writer. And then she is stalking my other questions, telling me I'm uncreative and that my story sucks. She said something first. I don't start things. And how old are you? I'd like to see some of your work. Because honestly, I doubt you can write half as good as I can. I wrote this up quickly, and I am actually an absolutely phenominal writer. I know that, and I don't need some jealous, idiotic person telling me I'm not. If anyone read what I wrote, when I take my time, they would think it was written by a 30 year old with fantastic skills. I've been asked before if it was part of a book, and if it was published. (: So, I know my skills, and asses like you just like to knock people down because you don't have any talent's yourself. I didn't say this did: I've had far better stories of realism, I have only once tried to dabble in fantasy, this once, which I wrote in 5 minutes tops. If I showed you some of my realism, you would fall over. (: It's absolutely fantastic. I write for teenager girls to read. I write for the readers of Twilight and the Vampires Diaries, I write for myself. I write for those people, and I write what I would want to read myself, since I am a teenage girl who reads Twilight and the Vampire Diaries. I write like that because I want to, and I don't need to write boring non-fiction, or fiction that is extremely realistic. I find it unimaginative and I just want to write with creative, unrealistic, amazing characters. But I'm not gonna write anymore. Ever. Because whats the point? I mean, if I suck so bad that somebody says "gag me" when reading my stuff, why should I ever type another sentence of fiction? So, that's all, congratulations, you convinced me that I'm a dreadful writer. And now, I pretty much just want to go die in a corner somewhere.
Help Me Edit My Story? Give me your opinion? Cass and Arissa and Maggie are all lost Witches, so that's why they are all so beautiful. This is just the rough draft beginning. Cass Nyte peeled the thin silk bedspread off herself, flopping her legs over to the left side of the bed. Flawless, no blemishes, and almost translucent. . Her eyes were a pale violet color. Not even in the slightest.
can you explain this koan ? Tanzen and Ekido were once travelling together down a muddy road. A heavy rain was still falling. Coming around the bend, they met a lovely girl in a silk kimono and sash, unable to cross the intersection. "Come on girl", said Tanzen at once. Lifting her in his arms, he carried her over the mud. Ekido did not speak again until that night when they reached a lodging temple. Then he no longer could restrain himself. "We monks don't go near females," he told Tanzen, "especially not young and lovely ones. It is dangerous. Why did you do that?" "I left the girl there," said Tanzen. "Are you still carrying her?"
can anyone explain the parable "muddy road" to me? i'm having a little trouble understanding the zen parable muddy road, here's how it goes. Tanzan and Ekido were once traveling together down a muddy road. A heavy rain was still falling. Coming around a bend, they met a lovely girl in a silk kimono and sash, unable to cross the intersection. “Come on, girl,” said Tanzan at once. Lifting her in his arms, he carried her over the mud. Ekido did not speak again until that night, when they reached a lodging temple. Then he no longer could restrain himself. “We monks don’t go near females,” he told Tanzan, “especially not young and lovely ones. It is dangerous. Why did you do that?” “I left the girl there,” said Tanzan. “Are you still carrying her?”
Can somone help me understand this? Two monks were once traveling together down a muddy road. A heavy rain was falling. Coming around the bend, they met a lovely girl in a silk kimono and sash, unable to cross the intersection. "Come on, girl," said the first monk. Lifting her in his arms, he carried her over the mud. The second monk did not speak again until that night when they reached a lodging temple. Then he no longer could restrain himself. "We monks don't go near females," he said. "It is dangerous. Why did you do that?" "I left the girl there," the first monk said. "Are you still carrying her?"
How awesome does this make you feel? Tanzan and Ekido were once traveling together down a muddy road. A heavy rain was still falling. Coming around a bend, they met a lovely girl in a silk kimono and sash, unable to cross the intersection. "Come one, girl," said Tanzan at once. Lifting her in his arms, he carried her over the mud. Ekido did not speak again until that night when they reached a lodging temple. Then he no longer could restrain himself. "We monks don't go near females," he told Tanzan, "espcially not young and lovely ones. It is dangerous. Why did you do that?" "I left the girl there," said Tanzan. "Are you still carrying her?" Deep and insightful right?? Wow. I feel smart now lol. Tanzan asks are you still carrying her becasue mentally the other monk is still thinking about her or, "carrying" her. Therefore he has fallen to the temptation rather then the monk who actually came into physical contact with the girl.
What Does This Zen Story Mean? Two monks were once traveling together down a muddy road. A heavy rain was falling. Coming around the bend, they met a lovely girl in a silk kimono and sash, unable to cross the intersection. "Come on, girl," said the first monk. Lifting her in his arms, he carried her over the mud. The second monk did not speak again until that night when they reached a lodging temple. Then he no longer could restrain himself. "We monks don't go near females," he said. "It is dangerous. Why did you do that?" "I left the girl there," the first monk said. "Are you still carrying her?"

Do you like my book so far? Im 14, and writing a novel. Im working really hard, so what do you think. P.s. Chapter 2 is in cursive, its supposed to be a diary entry which you cant tell on yahoo. Chapter one Ana sat on the back door step the double doors into the bushy backyard opened wide. Dressed in her underwear with a thin silk embroided kimono draped over her shoulders, she sipped her green tea as the 7’o’clock hot summer day cold breeze blew her not brown, not blonde hair. How she loved warm summer nights, where the sun didn’t go down until late and the cool breeze arrived when she was home from work. Camille walked in the front door, briefcase in tow as she sighed. “Camomile for Camille?” Ana turned around to see a beetroot red Camille walking to her bedroom, taking off her work jacket as she walked. “Why are you so flushed?” Ana yelled from the kitchen as she turned the kettle on. “Oh you have no idea” Camille spoke from her bedroom and Ana heard the wardrobe open, then shut. “Work was just so busy, surprising for such a hot summers day. I was fooled by this morning’s cool breeze and wore tights with my heavy suit, shit, it was a big mistake!” “I told you so!” Ana laughed as she placed the teabag in Camille’s favourite mug. She thought it was rather boring, a modern shaped black mug with a red quote on it. “Dream like you’ll live forever; drink tea like today is your last.” In a cursive writing, it was meant to be inspirational and kind of funky, Ana found it tacky and somewhat a copy of the lovely quotes she had scrawled all over her many inspired mugs, most gypsy or Buddha inspired with quotes like, “All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.” She looked through all her fantastic mugs, realising she had so many they couldn’t have been used often, if at all in their lives. There and then she made a promise to herself to rotate mugs every day. Ana then wondered, she did this a lot. Where she had collected them all over the years? After all, Buddha mugs were not found in Safeway according to Camille who had once tried to replace one she broke, and out of all places went to Safeway. “Yes, You were right about the tights this morning Ana, and if the whole day being red as a beetroot, not only colleagues but customers asking me if I was okay, when I went to catch the train they were running so late, in an act of disgust with the train company, I marched home telling them I’d be able to walk home faster than their trains would arrive.” “Good luck with that.” Ana giggled to herself, pouring the hot water into Camille’s mug. “I honestly thought I could do it.” Camille emerged from her bedroom now dressed in a light summers dress. “How wrong I could be!” She laughed. “I walked beside the train tracks too, so I knew, I had definitely beaten it.” Camille took her tea off Ana and they both headed for the backdoor step. “When did it fly past?” Ana flicked her hair away from her face and they both sat down. “Maybe 300m down the track.” Camille’s large green eyes glistened in the setting sunlight. “Now I can’t catch the train anymore. In my act of defiance I told them I would never return to utilise their services. The ticket woman, who works there every day, told me she would hold me to that. What kind of promoting for the company is she doing anyway?” Camille, outraged, sipped her tea; settling herself. “I’m not picking you up every day!” Ana laughed in complete disregard for Camille’s obvious distress. Ana and Camille had these conversations every night, in summer where they both loved to sit on their back porch and wait for the sun to set while drinking their teas. Whereas in winter, they rugged up by the fire, clutching warm exotic homemade soups by Ana, served with flavoursome breads. Nothing mattered during their conversations, but they talked about everything. It was if their lives were novels they were reading aloud to each other, sometimes serious, happy, funny or sad, and as much as those things mattered in everyday life, until the sun set on the back porch, or the fire went out in the winter, they were in their own world, a private sanctuary. Nor Ana or Camille had ever said it to the other, but when they both walked back into their open plan living room and closed the doors it felt like they were re-entering earth. All the hard realities of life came rushing back just like they had never disappeared. Chapter Two He has some nerve, some real nerve. At least I thought at the time what he said was unexpected. To ask me, in all seriousness, frail Lucas wether I “liked” that we fought constantly. What did he expect me to say? Of course I don’t like it. I tried explaining to him that it’s just how he and I work. Being together for almost five years usually means you can get over fights pretty well and if we can’t; we sure should have realised by now as we fight almost every day. It was during my explaining to Lucas that I realised something, something crucial that I had never wondered before, In our five year relationship I had never asked myself if I loved him. I answered to myself, of course I did. I must love him, this has to be what love feels like. I was then lost for words In the middle of my explaining; which is very uncommon for me. For future reference, If I stop talking during a discussion, and don’t talk for a few seconds, I need to be rushed to an emergency room. I stopped, nervous, but I realised it was a legitimate question that needed to be answered. It was just Lucas, not only wouldn’t he hurt a fly, he would be frightened. I asked my boyfriend of 4 years and 10months, Lucas Gavin Padriag, If he indeed, loved me. There was a silence followed by an unforgiving sigh. “No Camille, I don’t think I do.” As I had just told myself only 5seconds prior to the breaking news that I indeed; did love Lucas. I realised I was lying to myself. Of course I didn’t. How can you love someone you have nothing in common with? I again realised, I can’t stand Lucas; and I ushered him out the front door. To keep on my tracks of “realising” things today, it came to me that I didn’t know the word to call myself, where I just can’t make up my mind or change it to suit the situation or the answers of others. This is unusual for a lawyer, as I said before, especially me; to be lost for words. Camille Josephina Olivero. Who doesn’t look one bit Italian, French, whatever she is supposed to be. Hope you like it :D By the way, im Leah, on my sisters account. Omg yay :D thanks so much that means so so so much to me, you have no idea. :)

Traditional Japanese Winter Wear (Pre-WWII Era)? I'm writing up a little bit of fiction for NaNoWriMo and intend to make it as legit as possible. Now, I know that kimonos and the like made out of silk, hemp, or even cotton can get pretty chilly in the winter months, so I was wondering what type of clothing was worn during the cold winter months in Japan while traditional clothing was still in fashion.

Does anybody mind helping a college student with their laundry, haha? Okay, first off I feel really embarrassed asking this *blushes*. I guess my mother's laundering skills were just something I never picked up. So I need help. I wouldn't normally care, and I'd just shove all my whites, reds, towels and jeans in one load and set it to "warm", but all the clothes I bought for college this year were expensive, business, office-type clothes, so I really do not want to ruin them. So do you think you could please help with the whole sorting thing? I would give you more than 10 points if I could. A nice fruit basket or something. :) Okay, all of these clothes are brand new, haven't been washed yet, which means they'll probably bleed, right? Oh, and I'd like to keep down the number of loads, since it costs me $2.50 to do a load of laundry at my college (eek!). So should I just tell you what I have, and you can help me out? (by the way, all of these are "wash cold" and "tumble dry low", except for the green dress, which is "wash warm" and "tumble dry medium", and the khaki pants, which I could find no laundering instructions for) gray sweater dark gray vest blue and brown print tunic, 100% silk light blue striped blouse,100% cotton kimono (black with pink print) pink camisole khaki dress pants green jersey summer dress grey dress pants bright red sweater bright red knit summer dress white collared shirt white cardigan white camisole white T-shirt coral-colored blouse orange T-shirt also lots of jeans, socks, and underwear Some things like the "whites" category I have, but other things I have trouble sorting. Like, I have no clue where I'm supposed to put that silk blue tunic. Or the striped blue cotton blouse that is too light to go in darks, too dark to go in lights. Or the green dress, which is the only item with different washing instructions. And socks and underwear. Do you all sort yours? My mom used to sort her socks and underwear. Is that really necessary? If not, what "category" do they go in? Last question, I promise. What are the laundry machine equivalents of "wash cold" and "dry low"? My machine only has "whites", "brights", "permanent press", etc. Thanks! You've all been a BIIIIIIIIIIIIIG HELP!!!!! =D Any more info needed, just ask :) You both are wonderful. Thank you so much! :)

Probably tired of seeing this but, would someone take the time to check my story for punctuation mistakes? The metropolis of Zion, the capital of the Upper Continent, was known for its seafood and spiritual customs. A couple of miles outside the city stood the temple of Uruen, the water demon. Zion, unlike many of the other major metropolis throughout the continent, was more scientifically advanced and productive. Since the city was a peninsula, it also produced hydro power for all its electrical purposes and machinery. On the far northern side of the city surrounded by large iron gates and numerous guards, was a towering white marble castle(1) known as Orion. It was occupied by Lady Iain and her servants, the ruler of Zion and the highest of all angels. She sat at the desk of her study silently writing in her journal of daily events, her royal blue eyes focused on her words. She twirled a lock of golden hair with her pinky finger, her eagle like wings stretching from either side of her back. She wore nothing but a simple white silk dress with a gold rimmed monocle placed on her left eye. She was enjoying the soothing aroma of the sea breeze blowing through the open doors of her balcony; it made her feel at peace... ...But soon, that peace was destroyed. Storming through the sky and crashing onto the floor of her study were two Imperial Sirens(2), one a girl and the other a boy. Regaining a standing position the two then began to verbally assault each other. By their facial features and matching eye color you could tell that these two were twins. She placed her pin inside its holder and slammed her journal shut. "And here we go..." "Why do you always hafta follow me?" screamed the boy. He was somewhat strong built but at the same time abnormally short for his age. He had a child like voice and was sometimes mistaken for a 12 year old when the actual age at the time of his death was 17, but if your counting angle years, 317. He had short royal blue hair which he usually kept in a bun with a few strands sticking out on each side. His bangs were long and hung limply over the left side of his yellow eyes. A simple white kimono with a blue hakama was all he wore. Clinging limply to his side in a holster attached with a green sash was a bastard sword. "Me, follow you? You’re the one always rushing to the queen every time something important comes up!" reminded the girl. She was slightly taller than him by 2 feet and extreamly curvasious. Although her features may look womanly, she was actually younger than her brother by one year. In angle years, that would be 316. Her long red hair was pulled into a ponytail, her bangs short and neatly trimmed which showed off her yellow eyes. She wore the same outfit as her brother, only her hakama was bright red. Strapped to her back by a sash was a large boomerang. "That's because my loyalty--" "My loyalty my foot! The only reason you do shit like this is to out do me ya freaking liar! If I wasn't so calm and peaceful I would take my boomerang and knock your skull into oblivion!" "Not before I shove my sword up your--" "Saiyori, Tori, please! Enough arguing," the queen commanded. "Excuse us for our insolence Lady Iain," Saiyori said, kneeling before her. Tori did the same. "But before I was attacked by this idiot I--" "That's just like you to switch the situation around, dummy!" Tori stuck out his tongue. The queen sighed. She was becoming very irritated with the two, but like her anger management therapist said, "Breath in, and breath out." " Like I was saying, I had an urgent message for you from Captain Aaron of the Pyro Oasis Compound(3) in the Western Hemisphere." "I’m listening." She folded her arms. "I’m afraid that the Pyro Oasis Compound...has been attacked by a unidentified being," said Tori. The queen was skeptical. "But isn’t that compound impossible to break into?" "Yes, but this intruder did it with ease. Aaron said the attack had came out of nowhere and most of his guards were killed." "What do you mean 'this intruder'? Are you saying that there was just one?" "Yes," said Saiyori. "Took out forty guards in less than five minutes," Tori finished. "How many escaped?" the queen asked. If its who I think it is... "He was only able to take one from the maximum security confinements; why do you ask?" A look of dread appeared across her face. This is not good. "Saiyori, Tori, I need you to warn the surrounding kingdoms of a possible attack on their rulers." "Yes, my lady!" they said in unison. The angels parted their dove like wings and disappeared in a stream of wind. "So he has returned to claim what’s his," the queen walked towards the balcony of her study and gazed below at her kingdom. "The beginning of strife is near." My beta reader is nowhere to be found so...I was just hoping if someone could do this. It would be greatly appreciated. Ignore the numbers. It was occupied by Lady Iain and her servants, the ruler of Zion and the highest of all angels. - Clarify? Was the Lady or the Servents the ruler of Zion / highest of all angels? I didnt have enough background information (especially at that point) to make a clear decision. 1. It was Lady Iain that was the ruler of Zion and all angles. Sorry if that was confusing. There were also a few slang bits in the dialogue.. Was that purposeful (ie: accent) or was it a slip of the tongue by writing what you speak? Either could be true, just something to be brought to your attention. Also, the 'hositility' between the two twins (?) changes as the passage progresses. Perhaps something to look over? 2. Accent. The hositility between the two twins changes because well...I was just putting in real life. That happens with me and my siblings all the time. Were angry at each other first but when eaither corrected or spoken to it changes...than we argue later. Also, with the twins, (I think they are twins) if they are twins by appearance, why do they have different colored hair? Are they Frat twins? 3. Actually I didn't look into the whole twin thing. I just thought "Oh their hair color is diffrent but they're still twins." I guess I should make them look the same by chaning it so people won't become confused.
