Antique Chinese or Japanese Robe....How can I find out if it's worth anything? Hi Guys I wonder if you can help at all. I have an antique Robe which I thought I would try & evaluate. I'm not actually sure if it's of Chinese origin or Japanese. I've tried researching on the Internet to find out more about it but haven't come up with much....I wondered if maybe anyone knows of any good sites that I could search out in order to find out more about it. It's a long shot I know but it would be a start. I've also browsed ebay through their antiques section but they have nothing in comparison so I couldn't compare it to anything. Any help would be really appreciated Thanks for taking the time to read this. ♥
Can you get or buy buddhist robes in japan at the temples? I am just wondering as I would really like some buddhist robes and wonder if they sell them in japanese shops or in temples? I'd really like to get it over there when I go to japan because I would love to get the robes and meditate with them in the temple if its possible!
Can someone provide instructions on how to tie the obi on a traditional Japanese men's summer yukata? I have a Yukata I plan to wear at local festivals here in Japan, but I don't know how to properly tie the wide style obi. In the past I have gone to the shop where I bought my yukata and one of the older ladies there would do it for me. It is getting to be a bit impractical to keep doing that so I need to learn how do do it myself. I have been told there are different ways to tie the obi depending on age or status. So far, the only instructions I have found on the internet are for the yukata's used in the Japanese style Ryokans (using the thin robe-like obi)
What do Japanese critics and audiences think of Star Wars films? The Star Wars movies are strongly and directly influenced by samurai movies. Not just the swordfighting either. The name "Jedi" (from jedaigeki), the kimono-like robes, Obi-wan the old master, R2D2 and C3P0 from Hidden Fortress, and so on. I wondered if Japanese audiences are aware of these connections and what they think of them. (I thought I'd reach more Japanese by listing this question here, rather than in the movies section.)
How do I make a Japanese robe? (Cosplay)? I seem to cannot make a robe properly for cosplaying. I've tried to make a robe 3 times and it was... an epic fail XD I was wondering if there are any patterns that I can follow easily (or buy), tutorials/ written documents with pictures. I also want to learn how to make an Obi or make one that is very similar to it. I want to make a Sheena cosplay (from Tales of Symphonia) for Anime North 2010. Here is a picture of Sheena: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v514/SilentChaos89/Various%20Cosplay%20Reference/con_sheena.jpg Thank you so much! ^_^

Why do Chinese and Koreans hate Japanese if they are genetically and racially the same family???? Chinese and Koreans are genetically and racially the same as the Japanese. The Japanese of course have a mixture of Yayoi,Ainu, and Jomon. The Chinese and the Korean settlers moved to Japan and became Japanese.Japanese and Chinese and Koreans are all culturally the same. The Japanese culture is a variant of Chinese culture. As with the Koreans. The Chinese and Japanese hate each other even though they are culturally the similiar.Japan sent scholars and monks to China to study Chinese culture. The scholars brought back many Chinese elements to Japan.Japan altered the Chinese culture and fully intergrated it into their own.SO why the hate?Hell Chinese KOreans and Japanese all have three things in common in culture baggy robes hanfu hanbok kimono, they all bow, they are culurally linked.I believe all this hate is bad.EVEN THOUGH JAPAN INVADED KOREA AND CHINA and commited atrocities. HELL THE FIRST JAPANESE EMPERORS WERE KOREAN!!!!! ALL THE SINO INFLUENCED NATIONS SHOULD BE HAND IN HAND !!! Well world war 2 is f0cking done.China should forgive!!!!!But Japan should apologize!!! this question isnt dumb the British dont hate the Germans after what the Germans did.The Brits dont love the Germans but dont hate them either while China and Korea still hate Japan?WTF!!!! JAPAN"S CULTURE I SNOT RICH AND DIFFERENT.China influenced Japan nimrod!!!!Anything in Japan is in China culturally.Japanese culture is not rich it is a variant of Chinese culture.Chinese culture is the richest and oldest culture in east Asia.CHINA WAS NOT INFLUENCED BY CHRSITIANS!China was influenced by Taoism,Buddism, and Confucianism. The Japanese were a cultureless people living in tents before they found out the splendor of Chinese civilization.Japanese art, culture, and philosphy is derived from Chinese and Korean culture.Japanese are not unique.IM JAPANESE AND EVERYTHING JAPAN HAS CHINA HAD FIRST like the baggy robes Kimono=Hanfu!!!THe origami was made in China first,The Japanese government and infastructure system was baed on the Chinese one.Japan is a variant of Chinese culture and cannot be superior to the original culture of China's.Japan is a mish mash of Korean and Chinese culture no richness. The Japanese have a richness of (CHINESE CULTURE)that is the most correct statement.
Where can I buy modern asian style clothes? Preferably Japanese or Chinese modern fashion styles for guys? I don't mean like tradition robes. I mean stores that carry modern styles that have an asian theme. Thanks in advanced for your help!
What does a Japanese groom wear at his wedding? I am American, and my #1 girl is from Japan. If we married, I've seen brides' clothing: white kimono and proper accessories topped with a uchikake robe that may be solid white or have various patterns on a background of white, gold, orange or red. Miyuki says the colors and things shown symbolize various things, e.g. white=purity, red=happiness, cranes & pines=longevity, etc. Her surname Komatsu means "Small Pine", so I'll probably get her a uchikake with pines. I could ask her about my clothing, but I want to surprise her. I have kimono in black, grey and brown and matching haoris. I have several hakama, plain and striped. My tabi are blue, black and white. My zori have black straps. I also have three antique samurai kamishimo and hakama. Do you think that any of my japanese clothing is proper to wear to a Japanese wedding, or should I buy more. Perhaps Miyuki can judge the best answers to this question. Silly answers result in deleted questions.
Japanese clothing layer order? I was just wondering, how many robes do you wear when wearing a formal kimono? Two or three? Also, I was wondering if there was a website that I could purchase a "winter" kimono from....any answers may help. Thanks. ^^

Soul Calibur III Question- Is there any way I can check the number of VS. Battles I've done? I'm trying to create several characters based on a story I'm writing. However, I was only able to create the male characters accurately. To create my female characters, I need certain Custom Character parts, such as Long Straight Hair, and a Japanese kimono (if not, a robe similar to it). I checked a website, and it says I need to have 2000 battles done in order to unlock all the womens' custom parts. Is there any way I can check the number of battles I've done? I'm sure I've already gotten over 500, because I have most of the Joke Weapons (such as the Ivy Prototype Blade, Imitation Sword, Galley Oar, and Feather Broom). But how can I check the number of VS. Battles I've done, to see how much closer I am to unlocking the womens' custom parts? And please don't mention anything about beating Chronicles of the Sword, or a certain Chronicle within it. The game disc I have is faulty, and it will not allow me to play Chronicles of the Sword for some reason. It always freezes when I try to play this mode. But I can play Tales of Souls, Soul Arena, Practice, World Competition, and VS. Mode pretty fine.

Can someone translate this into simple japanese? "Bamboo cutter, we've come for the shinning princess. Thank you for taking care of her." Suddenly, all the doors opened. Shining Princess came out. "Wait, wait!" cried the old couple as they ran out the house. Shining princess went to the garden and put on an angel's robe. "Father, mother, I must leave. Please think of this as me," she sad, and she gave the kimono that she had been wearing to her parents. The carriage with Shining Princess rose into the sky. Surrounded by angels, Shining Princess went to the moon as her parents cried. ----- Using only hiragana would be appreciated.

Catchy japan fashion slogan? this is our speech 4 the project: Ria: A Heian empress wore something like five, six, or even twenty layers of robe at once. Those layers were called junihitoe. The hairstyle pictured on the doll on the screen is the hairstyle that only Heian empresses were allowed to wear. Dako: She wore rice-white mautte make-up, deep red lipstick to thin her lips, and she also blackened her teeth. The blackening of teeth was the symbol of nobility, and not only did empresses blacken their teeth, but also their ladies-in-waiting, nobles, the royal court, the emperor, etc. Noble-women also shaved off their eyebrows and instead painted thumb-prints way above the natural eyebrow line to give her a constantly surprised look. Dako: Japanese usually wore Zori or Geta shoes. They resemble a combination of flip-flops and clogs. The tabi socks were specially made to be worn with the shoes, as you can see by the big toe sticking out. Ria: The lady-in-waiting wore the same make-up as the empress, and also let her hair fall almost to the floor, but cut the front part of her hair short. The noblemen wore almost as many layers of robe as the empress herself. Men generally dressed up in the brightest colors possible, and they also used makeup, just like the women. When they wanted to formally dress up, they put on loose long pants, or oguchi, and either a ho robe or a noshi robe (the ho robe was longer than the noshi robe). Dako: For hunting and riding, they wore the same exact outfit, but also a coat was added called the karaginu. (Karaginu will be pictured in the next slide.) This hunting and riding outfit would, in the future, become the official samurai dress. These Japanese jackets, or karaginu were worn over all the layers of robes that most Japanese wore. Ria: Kimono actually means in Japanese “clothes”. They dubbed these kind of outfits kimono because they needed to call “opposite of Caucasian” clothes something in the 1850s. Before, they just called Western-style clothes “yo-fuku” and Japanese-style clothing “wafuku”. In short, the word kimono is a modern Japanese term. can u help me plz think of 1 or 2 good catchy short slogans to help ppl remember the info???????
Greetings - time for a little laugh....? Rich man and a poor man have the same wedding anniversary. They're both at Madison Avenue shopping for their wives. Poor man says to the Rich man, "What'd you get your wife this year?" He says, "A Mercedes and a huge diamond ring." The poor man says, "Why'd you get her both?" The Rich man says, "If she doesn't like the ring, she can take it back happy." The Poor man says, "O.K. That works." The Rich man says, "Well what did you get your wife?" The Poor man says, "A pair of slippers and a dildo." The Rich man says, "Why'd you get her a pair of slippers and a dildo?" The Poor man says, "If she doesn't like the slippers, she can go fkcu herself ...................................................... Once upon a time, long ago, a powerful Emperor of the land of the Rising Sun advertised for a new chief Samurai and after a year he had only got three applications, one from a Japanese Samurai, a Chinese Samurai and the third, a Jewish Samurai, so he summoned them to his court and ordered them to demonstrate their skills. The first was the Japanese, who reached into his robes and produced a small box, opened it and out flew a fly, drawing his samurai sword he flashed the blade through the air and the fly fell dead, cut in half. "What a feat" said the Emperor, "Now, number two, show me what you can do". The Chinese samurai stepped up and took a small box from his robes and out flew a fly, drawing his sword he swished twice through the air and the fly fell to the ground cut into three parts. "Amazing" said the Emperor, "Number three, beat that!" The third applicant stepped forward and took out a small box, opened it, and out flew another fly, he drew his sword and flashed it round the room with a mighty swish. But the fly was still flying around the room. Disappointed, the Emperor said, "What kind of skill is that? The fly is still living. "Dead, Schmead", said the Jewish samurai. "Dead is easy, Circumcision, THAT takes skill"
Does she like me? Ok here's the story, Currently, I am dating this japanese girl (she's a colleague). I went out for lunch with her once and I gave her flowers. When I asked her for a second "date", she refused or she would confirm with me later but she'll never reply. So, 1 night I confessed to her that I like her. The following week, her attitude towards me was much better and she also agreed to give me a "chance". She also said she will be giving my sister a "yukata" (japanese bath/summer robe). We've been out together for only 3 dates so far and we do have language difficulties because her English is bad and so is my Japanese. But when I'm out with her, sometimes she seems really happy and sometimes she gives me that sad look. I really want to start a serious relationship with her but I do not know what she wants exactly. My mum will also be coming to Japan next month and she had agreed to join us for dinner. I kinda confused and lost because this is the first time I'm dating a Japanese girl.

Give some thought-provoking questions about the kimono? The kimono (着物?)[1] is a Japanese traditional garment worn by women, men and children. The word "kimono", which literally means a "thing to wear" (ki "wear" and mono "thing"),[2] has come to denote these full-length robes. The standard plural of the word kimono in English is kimonos,[3] but the unmarked Japanese plural kimono is also sometimes used. Kimonos are T-shaped, straight-lined robes worn so that the hem falls to the ankle, with attached collars and long, wide sleeves. Kimonos are wrapped around the body, always with the left side over the right (except when dressing the dead for burial),[4] and secured by a sash called an obi, which is tied at the back. Kimonos are generally worn with traditional footwear (especially zōri or geta) and split-toe socks (tabi).[5] Today, kimonos are most often worn by women, and on special occasions. Traditionally, unmarried women wore a style of kimono called furisode,[5] with almost floor-length sleeves, on special occasions. A few older women and even fewer men still wear the kimono on a daily basis. Men wear the kimono most often at weddings, tea ceremonies, and other very special or very formal occasions. Professional sumo wrestlers are often seen in the kimono because they are required to wear traditional Japanese dress whenever appearing in public.[ from wikipedia. I honestly couldnt think of thought-provoking questions. please give some
what would be funnier? my family is wanting to make a short movie like one of those 40 year old Japanese movies with people fighting each other. this is going to be more comical than action-packed, so i was wondering what would be funnier: A) someone fighting with a spoon or one of those blades that attach to electric blenders B) 3 people attacking the person, and beating the crud out of them and tossing them out the window (onto the trampoline) in under 15 seconds, or for them to fight back with a pair of kindergarten scissors and then after about 20 seconds, they finally get attacked and thrown out the window? C) a guy and a girl are fighting, would it be funnier if the guy is wearing excessively long robes and dies of heat stroke, or he has a head bandanna and a kilt with no shirt, and gets killed by getting hit in the head with a frying pan? D) finally, would it be funnier to watch an 8 year old rip the keyboard from a computer and beat up the 14 year old, or for the 14 year old to slip on a hotwheels car and the 8 year old kick him in the head a couple of times?
Why is my neighbourhood beginning to look like some Middle Eastern city? This is a true story: A Japanese student comes to london and says to me "i think theirs been a mistake", i say what you mean? "I think my planes landed in Turkestan instead of London" i say why? and he says "if this is london where are the Church's and cathedral spires that used to grace your once fine skylines? where are the butchers bakers, fish and chips shops or in fact people who look, dress or even remotely speak english" i just shut my mouth and couldn't reply back. He was right. Walking down some English neighborhoods you can be forgiven to think your walking down a street in Tehran or some other Arabian town. (the beards, white robes, burkhas, call to prayers, spice houses, music) So how long is left before we are lining up to read prayers in mosques and learn the koran? The floodgate seems to be open its only a matter of time the majority become the minority, in a country that once gave the world inventions like sliced bread and the Jet Engine. any thoughts on this?
Why don't Muslim people make more effort to intergrate into Western Societies? Forgive me for being so brash, but do you think the problem and all these conflicts that we seemed to be locked into with the Islamic world may lie in them not mixing in or integrating into our societies? I mean you get Chinese and Japanese people coming over you don't see them wearing the traditional samurai dress or a kimono or a powder white face? Or all them Africans that come over dont be covered in traditional masai dress; or you dont get many Mexicans living in the West wearing a poncho and saying ariba ariba!. So why dont Muslim people make more effort to mix in with everyone else? Why do they still have to wear medieval hijabs or headscarves or them long robes men wear? something that existed from the 7th century. ? Why dont they swap all these clothes for modern armani or a prada? Surely isn't this the kind of backward thinking that has left them in the medieval ages? So why dont they come to the pub with us after work? and enjoy a nice orange juice? Why dont their women wear their hair down, Im sure Arabian women are the most beautiful in the world? Butinstead of mixing in with us they try to create a replica of a mini country within our countries? (btw, i know many good, generous and honest Muslims who i am proud to call my friend and is no mean an insult on anyone belief or tradition)
What say to "Bering Strait, Mexico, And New York" Poem? 1. Migration The pregnant and the old straggled along jagged cliffs, Following their young hunters' path...no frost-snorting horses To carry the sick. Only thick-furred, black dogs...pets when Stomachs were full. Sons, born in the mountain snows, did not cry in the plains below. Wails filled the high passes, etching stunted trees, then Drifted down...on. Voices echoed to each other. Bones marked the trail. When pelts Hung loose on hips...shadows sat around the fire, grim-jawed, Faces grizzled. Children laughed with the puppies at sunset. And old men smiled Through their eyes. By dawn, fire ashes cold, footsteps wound to the south, disturbing Only shriveled blades. A week-old wolf kill...arms became strong. An ancient deer dying By a stream...stomachs quieted. A shadow...holding a skull to the waning sun. 2. Mexico To the moon, an upraised, warrior skull...chants scattered the Density of sweet incense. Limestone blocks riveled red, priests' hair matted, robes stained Stiff. A young girl waited in a damp chamber. She smiled for her young Man in the war. Tlaloc-God came. As she ascended temple steps, Her love, shorn of Eagle armor, proudly entered the enemies camp, Wrists fettered. At dawn, corn cakes sizzled...old women stirred peppers into the Beans. Two boys played with Jaguar claws. The father hoed corn. At dawn, twelve thousand chained, climbed temple steps. The Hummingbird God came...blood ran to the plains. Drums died At twilight. Cakes, beans devoured. The father went to his field. 3. Thirty-Fifth Street Offices hang in parallels. Coolers bubble. Khaki-clad janitors shuffle Down vacant halls. Huge glass doors are locked against streets. In kerosene-scented basements, the sick dream feverishly Of cool, mountain streams...snow, sorrow. Pictures of animals, trees, crowd split, plastered walls. Electric poles lift arms to the sun...sparrows twitter Over crumbs. Ambulances shriek past red-lighted intersections to waiting pain, Deposit their sheeted burden... Search for another. Somewhere on the Old Continent, fur-cuffed, weather-wrinkled hands, Skin their kills With finely manufactured Japanese knives.
can someone please tell me what the hell is going on in this article about myanmar.? Myanmar junta sets Suu Kyi talks conditions By Aung Hla Tun2 hours, 9 minutes ago Myanmar's military ruler set conditions on Thursday for meeting detained pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi, as security forces continued to round up people and interrogate hundreds more arrested in a ruthless crackdown on protesters. In the first official remarks since a visit by U.N. envoy Ibrahim Gambari this week, junta chief Than Shwe said he would hold direct talks with Suu Kyi if she publicly agreed to four conditions. Than Shwe told Gambari that Suu Kyi must abandon her "obstructive measures" and support for sanctions as well as her positions that were "confrontational" and for "utter devastation," state television said, without elaborating on how the Nobel laureate could meet the demands. Gambari was dispatched to Myanmar to persuade the generals to end the crackdown on protests against their rule that grew to 100,000-strong in the main city of Yangon and to talk to Suu Kyi, who has been in detention for 12 of the past 18 years. But reports of physical abuse of captured protesters, including Buddhist monks who led the uprising, suggest Than Shwe is paying scant regard to his calls for restraint. "That is one of the top concerns of the international community," said U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who is due to attend a meeting of the 15-member Security Council on Friday to discuss the crackdown in a country under military rule for an unbroken 45 years. The U.N. Security Council decided to hear Gambari's report at a public meeting on Friday, but China said it was opposed to any "international imposed solution." It said the junta's crackdown on pro-democracy campaigners was an internal affair. 'BASICALLY INTERNAL' Beijing's U.N. Ambassador, Wang Guangya, told reporters, "There are problems there in Myanmar but these problems still, we believe, are basically internal." Official media say 10 people were killed in the crackdown on the biggest challenge to the junta in nearly 20 years, although Western governments say the toll is likely to be far higher. About 1,400 people were still being detained, according to the evening state news broadcast, which said 2,093 people had been arrested and 692 released since the crackdown on the peaceful protests began last week. The United States called for the military to talk to Suu Kyi without conditions and said the senior U.S. diplomat in Myanmar would visit its new capital, Naypyidaw, to urge them to begin a "meaningful dialogue" with opposition groups. "We don't believe that there need to be any conditions. This is a dialogue between a government and its people. You shouldn't need to have conditions," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters in Washington. A relative of three women released said detainees were being divided into four categories: passers-by, those who watched, those who clapped and those who joined in. "They're looking for the people who led the demonstrations. The people clapping will only get a minimal punishment -- maybe two to five years," said Win Min, who fled to Thailand during a crackdown on a student-led uprising in 1988. Leaders could be looking at up to 20 years behind bars, he said. People in central Yangon's Kamayut district said soldiers had arrested scores of people on Wednesday for trying to impede a raid on the Aung Nyay Tharzi monastery a few days earlier and giving protection to fleeing Buddhist monks. Another 70 young monks rounded up in other swoops across the city a week ago were freed overnight from a government technical institute, after 80 monks and 149 women believed to be nuns were released on Wednesday. One freed monk, who did not want his name revealed, said some had been beaten when they refused to answer questions about their identity, birthplace, parents and involvement in the protests. "The food and living conditions were horrible," the monk, from Yangon's Pyinya Yamika Maha (A) monastery told Reuters. Among those detained in the middle of the night on Wednesday was a Myanmar U.N. staff member and her two relatives. They were released, along with her driver, on Thursday, U.N. spokeswoman Michele Montas said in New York. The junta's crackdown has provoked scores of protests around the world and on Thursday hundreds of Buddhist monks in yellow robes marched in India chanting hymns, and waving placards that read "Stop Killing" and "No violence against democracy." The body of 50-year-old Kenji Nagai, a Japanese video journalist shot to death near Yangon's Sule Pagoda, was returned home on Thursday for an autopsy whose results could lead to Tokyo making good on a threat to scale back economic assistance to Myanmar, one of Asia's poorest countries. Is it common....? ...for Asians of different ethnicities (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc) to combine cultures? For example, a Chinese girl with a Japanese name or a Japanese girl who wears the Chinese cheongsang (sp?) ladies' robe? Huh? So it's common only amongst the lower classes? Wow...it's like prejudice. That's sad. :(

I'm a shy guy & I went to a spa last week, what mental image is so hilarious about my story to people? So I'm 18 years old and very shy, and my mom suggested I go to a Japanese spa to relax. So I strip down and put on the robe they give you, and as I'm walking into the open area with all the mud baths and hot tubs, one of the workers there said "Oh, let me help you with this", and she yanks on the belt of my robe, pulls it RIGHT off my back and SHOVED me into the open area of people, while slamming the door behind me---leaving me out there BUCK NAKED!!! I immediately covered my penis with my hands, and I started BEGGING the woman to let me have my robe back. As I'm bouncing there on my tippytoes, trying to look into the window to get her attention, I hear all the people behind me LAUGHING at my bare misfortune. Then, the most humiliating thing happened: A 45 year old woman there gets out of her hot tub, puts on her robe, walks behind me and says "Just get in a tub, SWEET CHEEKS" and SLAPS my naked tush!!! Why does my friend Sarah think this is SO hilarious??? What mental images are so hilarious to visualize that makes people laugh so hard?
I need help identifying a netsuke/value.? I own a netsuke that was given to me by my grandpa, who was a huge art collector. HE said it was real, and made from ivory. However, I have no other info. It is a bald man in a flowered robe, seated, that is stretching out and yawning. There are japanese characters on the bottom, but I don't speak japanese. So, I looked all over the internet, and found nothing that looked like my netsuke. Does anyone have some websites/ suggestions on how to find it's origins/value?

I need enlightenment for this dream I had 2 years ago...? I had this really weird dream. when I was 16...two years ago. I've been wondering like crazy what it means and dream websites haven't helped me much. This is like the third time I've posted it and haven't gotten any great answers. Maybe now someone can help me since I've waited months before re-posting it. Here it is. I flew down from the sky and onto the deck of a HUGE japanese-style one story mansion. There was a blue sky with hardly any clouds, cherry blossom trees and regular trees. When I hit the ground, it was like I never stopped moving. I was just running. I ran up to a gong and stopped. I moved to the right past of it. I started running again then I stopped. About 50ft ahead of me, there where stairs that descended onto the ground and a little girl in a kimono was at the bottom of them. She wanted me to follow her but I was scared of her and I didn't. From the gong point and on, I repeated that scene 3 times, then I turned left and went inside my home. For the next part of my dream, I lying done, in a dark room with light peeking from the glassless windows covered by wooden shudders. I hear a knock on the shudder, to the left of me at the far end of the bare room, which only had a bed in it with tall posts, possible a canopy bead. I walk up to the window, and open the shudder. This gorgeous, tall guy with long silver hair and light blue eyes (mid 30s) appeared. He asked if he could come in. I looked behind me at the black shadow figure on my bed. I felt guilty, as if it would be considered cheating. Then he said 'Fine, I'll let myself in.' and started walking towards the door, which was just a few feet away...right next to the windows. I quickly put on my robe, that was on the coat rack next to the door and opened it. I went outside, pushing him backwards and shut the door behind me. He took my hand and said 'I need to tell you something.". He then, took me under this HUGE tree with this amazing aura. It looked like sparkles/glitter, and it was clear, but at the same time it wasn't. The tree wasn't huge in height, but It was huge in girth. He took both my hands, looked my in the eye and said 'Listen to me, I have something very important to tell you." I nodded my head and said "Okay.". He started saying "You are...". then it was like I'd gone deaf, but at the same time I didn't I could hear him clearly, hear him speaking but I didn't. After he was done, he said 'Okay?' and I shook my head yes. Then I said 'Wait, I didn't hear what you said!" Then he looked at me, smiled and disappeard. Then I woke up. BTW, he looked like a real-life sesshomaru off of inuyasha, except he was nice and had a different kimono, and eye color...and he was so real!. My questions are: 1.What does my dream mean? 2.Do you think I'll ever have it again? 3.What do you think he said? 4.How can I find out what he said without meditating? (because I cannot focus enough to meditate. I just cannot meditate or concentrate on anything) I BELIEVE all dreams have meanings. I believe they weren't randomly put together. Watching anime has nothing to do with it except a resemblance so you know what he looked like. I also don't care to hear your answer if you don't share the same 2 beliefs I do. Please and thank you.
i need to know the name of an old cartoon? first its NOT cities of gold.it was kind of a sci-fi action cartoon that took place in the desert and the main guy had black hair, wore a robe and wore golden armbands that maybe a rope or something shot out of them. the cartoon is from the late 80's or early 90's. i found information on it before but cant remember where. i do know it was a french and Japanese collaboration. check out this link, i tried to draw one of the characters http://img132.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cartoonyo2.jpg
Does any one know a good collection of Martial Art legends form China and Asia? I want to write a book or screen play about a Kung-Fu warrior traveling ancient China and perfecting his martial arts ability to mastery. He challenges the monks of Shaolin , the Taoist monks in Wu Tan mountains and all over the country. I wnat him to use a staff and his fist and kicks. He will be bald and have fu manchu and wear a brown and white or faded balck and cream white winter robe. He will do iron stomach and breathing exerecises iunder icy water falls, climb cliff faces. Stare down a tiger. Run with wolves, break trees and rivere rocks with his iron fists. Train with the monks of differant temples and defeat their champions. Fight off assasins from defeated fighters. Save a vilage and other things. I need mroe rral life stories form legendary warriors to comple his story.I kind of wnat to keep it in China with only Chinese people, but wnat to take aspects form american, Israeli, Japanese,Thai ancient greek and Indian (India) arts and culture. I think I will put him in a world where there are provinces that resemble these various countries, but all are basically Chinese. No white, no other races. Apparently you haven't read anything about the Shaolin Monks, they would take it as an offense to their honor and would accept challenge in a Sanda or street fight depending on the severity of the insult to the temple and the amount of honor hanging in the balance. And I am not confused with a Japanese temple but the Shaolin Temple in Zheng Zhou in Henan province China. Anyways it's fiction of course. I would ahve to say Imi lichtenfield , Miyamoto Musahsi, and Masutatsu Oyama belong to that list as well. Especially Musashi.
tell me what you think? THE GRIM Reaper By Cristian and Adrian The Grim Reaper is described to be a skeleton wielding a scythe and wearing a black robe and hood. In several cases the Grim Reaper causes the victims death witch led people to believe he could be bribed or tricked so you could “live” longer. The Slavic version is said that G.R is a girl. In the Hindu version , G.R is called Yamaraj ,witch means literally god of death and rides a black buffalo. and instead of a scythe , Yamaraj uses a lasso to capture the soul to his adobe home (Yamalok). At Yamalok a record shows all your good and bad deeds. Then Yamaraj decides how you become reincarnated , or what/who you will live as next like a cow or roach. Basically you’ll be born as something else . Death is a woman In white clothes who has a green sprout in her hand . Whoever touches it will be put in a eternal sleep. That image lasted all the way to the middle ages , but in the 15 century the image is replaced with the European skeletal version Within the Japanese legend the goddess of Izanaji dies of fire wounds after giving labor to Hinokagutsuchi god of fire. She was sent to the underworld and was said to have to harvest one thousand souls each day giving her the title if the Chinese Death . Also there are death gods called shinigami who are the demons of China. The Greek find G.R to be in inevitable or expected so he wasn’t pure evil to them. He seems to be bearded man with wings but sometimes as a young chap . Death or Thanatos is the counterpart of life and a female is represented as life. Thanatos is the twin of Hypnos sleep god ( a.k.a Sandman ) and is shown often with him. His job is to convey the departed to Hades. He hands them to a man named Charon… and just between you and me he looks like the western (our) version … who the takes then across my favorite river , the river Styx witch separates the land of the living and the land of the dead. From Charon ,the tradition of putting pennies over the deceased eyes. If Charon was not paid the soul will be at the riverside for all of eternity .Keres was the sister of Thanatos and was the god of violent death such as battle, disease, accident ,and murder. She was portrayed as evil and feeds on human blood after the soul has been escorted to Hades .she had fangs ,talons, and wear bloody garments . Lithuanian paganism called death Giltine who for was an old ugly lady because she was trapped within a casket seven years . Then they began to believe the up -to-date G.R. Okay , are you satisfied with your grim reaper knowledge needs . Remember what you learned..
Any help would be really appreciated Thanks for taking the time to read this ♥
Why is my neighbourhood beginning to look like some Middle Eastern city? This is a true story: A Japanese student comes to london and says to me "i think theirs been a mistake", i say what you mean? "I think my planes landed in Turkestan instead of London" looking perplexed, I say why? and he says "If this is London where are the Church's and cathedral spires that used to grace your once fine skylines? where are the butchers bakers, fish and chips shops or in fact people who look, dress or even remotely speak english" I just shut my mouth and couldn't reply back. He was completely right. Walking down some English neighborhoods you can be forgiven for thinking your walking down a street in Tehran or some other Arabian town. (the beards, white robes, burkhas, call to prayers, spice houses, music) So how long is left before we are all lining up to read prayers in mosques and learn the koran?
